1. Name of
the Club shall be the Land-Rover Register 1948-1953.
2. Objects: To
further an interest in, and provide members with information, advice and assistance
on matters connected with early Land-Rovers.
3. Constitution:
Membership is offered to anyone who owns, drives, or is interested in
80" wheelbase Land-Rovers (or the 2.8 litre Rolls-Royce B40 engined vehicles).
4. Affiliation:
The Club shall be affiliated to the Association of Rover Clubs and shall be
bound by the rules of the Association.
5. The Committee
shall be elected at the A.G.M. The Committee shall have the power to co-opt
other members as necessary. The Committee shall consist of between six and
twelve members inclusive of the Secretary and Treasurer. A Chairman shall
be elected from the Committee. The Chairman shall not vote except in the exercise
of a casting vote. One half of the committee shall be a quorum.
6. Nomination:
The names of candidates for election to the Committee must be received
by the Secretary not less than seven days before the A.G.M. signed by the
candidate and his/ her proposer.
7. Membership:
The election of candidates to membership shall be at the discretion of
the Committee.
8. Subscription:
A joining fee of £1.00 will be paid by new members, and the annual subscription
shall be £23.00 (reviewed annually by the Committee) within Europe and
£27.00 for members elsewhere. Renewal subscriptions shall be payable
on the 1st January.
9. Non-payment:
Any member who has not paid his/ her subscription within two clear months
of the 1st January will be taken off the Register and will not be eligible
to take part in functions promoted by the Club or to receive the Newsletter.
10. Use of Register:
The name and address of the Club shall not be used by any member for trade,
advertising or in connection with any legal proceedings and any register or
list of members which may be produced from time to time is not to be used
for any trade purpose whatsoever.
11. Expulsion:
The Committee shall have the power to expel any member if, at any time, they
shall be of the opinion that the interest of the Club could be best served
by the expulsion of that member.
12. Annual General
Meeting of the Club shall be held annually upon a date and at a time fixed
by the Committee. The A.G.M. will:-
a) report on the
Club's activities over the past year,
b) receive the reports of the Secretary and of the Treasurer for the year
ending 30th June, along with the financial report of the Club's
affairs,
c) elect between
six and twelve Committee members,
d) decide any resolutions.
13. Special General
Meeting may be convened by the direction of the Committee; fifteen members
shall form a quorum. At least 21 days notice of all general meetings shall
be given.
14. Agenda:
Any items to be discussed at a general meeting shall be sent to the Secretary
at least 14 days before the date of such meeting and signed by the members
concerned.
15. Voting:
All paid-up members shall exercise one vote; where husband and wife share
one subscription, only one vote shall be cast. Postal and proxy votes can
be allowed if members have been advised that these are acceptable.
16. Observance:
Every member binds him/ herself to abide by the rules of the Club and also
accept as final and binding the decision of the Committee.
17. Alterations
may be made to these rules by a general meeting provided:-
a) the proposed
alterations are submitted to the Secretary of the A.R.C.
b) the details of
the proposed alterations are included in the notice of the general meeting
and
c) the resolution
proposing such alterations is carried by a two thirds majority.
18. Copies:
Every member shall be furnished with a copy of these rules on receipt of membership
application.
19. Trophies:
All perpetual trophies to be held for eleven months and shall be delivered
up one month before the A.G.M. The recipient is responsible for the condition
and insurance of the trophy while in his/ her care.
20. Dissolution:
The Club may be dissolved by a Special General Meeting convened by the
Committee. If the resolution is duly passed, the Committee shall forthwith
liquidate the affairs of the Club. Any surplus to be distributed equally amongst
the paid-up members.
21. Participation
in any show or other event is at the risk of the individual. While the Register
may draw attention to events, arrangements are made with the organisers of
the event and not with the Register, even if the Register forwards application
forms or passes messages and information. The Register does not act as an
agent for the organisers. It is a condition of participation in, or entry
to, any event, including static display, that the vehicle and participants
are covered by Third Party insurance and that they agree to absolve and indemnify
the Register and its officers and other members against any liability however
this should be occasioned.
